Vauxhall topped the electric light commercial vehicle (eLCV) registration charts in February with its Vivaro Electric panel van, despite an overall drop in electric van sales.

Despite strong competition from other contenders, such as the Ford E-Transit, Toyota Proace Electric and Volkswagen ID Buzz Cargo, Vauxhall sealed second place too, with the smaller Combo Electric van, giving Vauxhall a 39.2% share of the eLCV sector for the month.

Figures issued by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders showed 264 Vivaro Electric vans were registered in February, with 115 of the smaller Combo Electric. Combined with strong sales in the previous month, Vauxhall-badged electric vans now have a healthy 25.6% of the eLCV market for the year to date.

Vauxhall attributes the success to being one of a handful of manufacturers, alongside Stellantis-owned stablemates from Citroen and Peugeot, offering electric options across its entire line-up. Vauxhall intends to be an electric-only manufacturer from 2028.
