Vauxhall continues to dominate the electric light commercial vehicles (eLCV) sales charts, heading the April table — the fourth consecutive month that the manufacturer has topped the rankings this year.

The impressive sales totals mean that more than one-in-three electric vans sold in the UK this year have been a Vauxhall, according to the latest registration figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

The April registration figures show that Vauxhall accounts for 36.6% of the eLCV market after the first four months of 2023, with 2,344 of the brand’s electric vans finding new homes. The Vivaro Electric and Combo Electric were the UK’s two best-selling eLCVs in April, with 557 and 178 units sold, respectively.

The Vivaro Electric also remains the country’s best-selling eLCV overall, having reached 1,794 sales in the first four months of the year. The Combo Electric is some way behind its larger sibling, with just over 500 registrations through the year.

Vauxhall continues to be one of a handful of manufacturers able to offer fleets and businesses a fully electric van across its entire model line-up, consisting of the Combo Electric, Vivaro Electric, and Movano Electric.

“Electric vans are a fast-growing segment as businesses and fleets look to reduce their overheads and emissions,” explains James Taylor, managing director at Vauxhall. “Vauxhall accounting for more than a third of the market share shows just how positively businesses perceive our products and services.”
