BV Rees has marked a double milestone this month, celebrating 10 years as a SsangYong dealer and an impressive 75 years in business. Established in 1948, the family-run showroom
, presently overseen by Wyn Rees, continues to serve the Cardigan community in Wales.
As a cornerstone of the community, BV Rees takes immense pride in its longstanding heritage and dedicated staff. All employees hail from within a five-mile radius of Abbey Garage and are bilingual, comfortably conversing with clients in both English and Welsh.
Having joined the business in 1976, Mr Rees is no stranger to the automotive world. As the youngest offspring of Victor (BV) Rees, Wyn began acquainting himself with the industry even during his school holidays. His credentials are notable; being a highly skilled technician, Wyn was recognized as the Top UK Technician in 1983 and secured the runner-up position for Europe in 1984. These achievements stand as a testament to his dedication and make him an exemplary ambassador for both Abbey Garage and the SsangYong brand.

Commenting on the anniversary, SsangYong UK managing director, Kevin Griffin, said: “BV Rees is our latest dealer to reach the landmark decade with SsangYong. We’re extremely proud of all their hard work in this time and their very positive presence for us in the west of Wales. We are passing our thanks and gratitude to Wyn and the rest of the team. Here’s to another ten.”
Mr Rees said the following of the anniversary: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with SsangYong for the last decade. We and our customers identify strongly with the strong product line-up, and this has made selling the cars very enjoyable. We’re excited to see what the future holds for the brand and what new technologies we will see, as well as serving our fantastic and supportive community during this time.”
