The Torsus Terrastorm 4×4 HD has completed a 90-day testing and validation programme designed to prove its durability, serviceability and off-road capability under heavy-load conditions.
The heavy-duty 4×4 van platform was tested at the VTÚ Military Technical Institute facility in the Czech Republic, where it covered 15,000km (9,320 miles) while loaded to its 5.5-tonne gross vehicle weight.
The programme was designed to assess reliability, availability, maintainability and durability, known as RAM-D testing. Torsus says the concentrated test cycle is equivalent to between 45,000 and 60,000km (27,961–37,282 miles) of normal operational use.
Testing included endurance running, mud work, water crossings, side-tilt assessment, jump testing and off-road durability trials. The vehicle was also tested through repeated water obstacles up to 800mm deep, including moving and stationary water tests designed to simulate river crossings and flooded terrain.
Torsus also used the programme to validate its in-house snorkel system and custom breathers for the axles and transmission, with high-speed water testing used to check airflow and drivetrain sealing.
The Terrastorm 4×4 HD uses an all-wheel drive platform with a reduction gearbox and independently lockable front and rear differentials. During testing, the vehicle was assessed across mud, ruts, deep holes and diagonal wheel lifts while fully loaded.
A side-tilt test was also carried out on the cargo version of the Terrastorm, loaded with euro pallets, to assess stability and weight distribution under full payload conditions.

The Torsus Terrastorm 4×4 HD is aimed at specialist conversion markets, including emergency response, utility work, expedition use, remote-access support vehicles, mobile workshops and heavy-duty passenger transport. It’s available now, with prices starting from €76,580 (£66,200) before taxes, local market charges, delivery, and conversion costs.
