Segway Powersports has released its aggressively styled, road-legal buggy onto the UK’s streets and trails. Combining aerodynamic design, performance and cutting-edge technology, the Segway Villain side-by-side leisure vehicle is anything but bashful, attracting attention both out on the trails and in urban settings.

Segway Powersports describe the design, rather dramatically, as one that ‘purposefully emulates that of an apex predator ready to pounce, with an intimidating front profile and an arched side silhouette.’ Exposed engineering and a steel framework accented with pops of striking colour complete the look.

Equipped with remote reservoirs actuating the front and rear shocks, adjustable dual-speed compression and rebound that can adapt to both terrain and driving style, the Villain promises to be a great option for an adventurous outdoor lifestyle, tackling off-road trails, blasting across the beach or cruising through green lanes with ease.

With the 1,000cc, twin-cylinder, four-stroke engine delivering a maximum power of 105hp and 93Nm of torque, the Villain holds its own in the SSV category. It offers good low-speed performance across trickier terrain, while full throttle results in rapid acceleration over smoother ground.

The Villain features dual A-arm front suspension with 400mm wheel travel, and rear suspension with 450mm wheel travel. Coupled with excellent ground clearance of 370mm, it can attack even the most undulating of landscapes.

With an adjustable seat, inclinable steering wheel and smart electric power steering that can be switched between three settings in transit, there is a good level of driver comfort, too. The sport, comfort and standard modes suit differing drivers and road conditions. An LCD dashboard with a large touchscreen display provides essential data at your fingertips.

The Villain is also compatible with the Segway Powersports App. It allows users to access real-time data from their vehicle through the Smart Commanding System, including service reminders, fuel levels, anti-theft tracking and remote unusual movement warnings. It can even send an SOS warning to an emergency contact in the event of an accident.

The Segway Villain comes in two variants, the SX10 and wider SX10W model, with prices starting from £17,999 including VAT. It’s available from Segway Powersports dealers across the UK.
