Renault Trucks is expanding its light commercial vehicle offering, launching two new specifications within its Trafic range; the Trafic Red Edition Caged Dropside and the Trafic Red Edition Chiller.
The new LCV vehicles benefit from Renault Trucks’ 35-year experience in the conversion marketplace, its century-long expertise in HGVs, and the density of its commercial vehicle distribution and repair dealer network.
Commenting on the launch, Grahame Neagus, head of LCV at Renault Trucks UK and Ireland, said: “For several years, Renault Trucks has been focused on increasing its market share and penetration through innovation and a compelling tailored proposition that is set to continue with the launch of these new Renault Trucks Trafic variants.
“Our customers appreciate the versatility, reliability, and performance of the Trafic range, as well as the ability to personalise the vehicle to the individual’s needs and activities, and these new variants take this to the next level. With a wider range of specifications to choose from, we are confident that we can offer our customers the perfect LCV vehicle to suit their needs.”
Renault Trucks Trafic Red Edition Caged Dropside
Suitable for a wide range of applications, the Renault Trucks Trafic Red Edition Caged Dropside — a name that rolls off the tongue — is ideal for use in urban locations where space is tight, and a highly manoeuvrable and compact vehicle is required.
Based on the Platform Cab and available with either a Caged Dropside body or a standard Dropside body, the vehicle has a typical payload of 850kg with caged sides or 950kg without. It’s available in an L2 wheelbase with a single H1 cab and is powered by a Euro 6 Step E engine producing 150hp, with power sent through a six-speed manual gearbox.
Converted by approved converter, P.D.Stevens & Sons in Market Drayton, the van benefits from an array of unique features, including a sloping alloy plank floor for easy evacuation of the load, cab high drop-down mesh sides in addition to the conventional alloy dropsides, full height rear mesh doors, and underfloor tool storage with lockable doors either side. It’s also fully Chapter 8 compliant, including LED and strobe lighting and chevrons.

Renault Trucks Trafic Red Edition Chiller
Based on the high-specification Platform Cab, the model has been converted by Gray and Adams and fitted with a refrigerated chiller box body, with an optional freezer or dual compartment available.
Suitable for food, plant or pharmaceutical products required to be transported in a chilled state, the Trafic Red Edition Chiller provides more space than a standard refrigerated van, together with a typical 865 to 1,000kg payload. It offers nearside access via a single door, as well as twin doors to the rear.
The van is available with an L2 wheelbase, single H1 cab, moveable bulkhead for dual temperatures, electric standby facility, and Euro 6 Step E 150hp engine with a six-speed manual gearbox.
