The X250d Power is one of the more popular models of the Mercedes-Benz X-Class range, which features the fuel-efficient 2.3-litre engine in the well-equipped ‘Power’ trim. We take a brief drive and see what stands out.
X-Class X250d Power: Specification
The X-Class Power specification is the highest of any conventional pickup truck, rivalling some premium passenger cars for the number of creature comforts. Standard exterior features include 18-inch six-spoke alloys, front fog lights, electric heated and adjustable door mirrors, LED lights, a chrome rear bumper with access step and chrome detailing on the grille and fog lights.
Meanwhile, on the inside, you can expect to find dual-zone climate control, cruise control, keyless entry and start, a parking camera, heated leather seats, leather-covered steering wheel and handbrake, a DAB radio with 7.0-inch touchscreen display, voice control, Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
X-Class X250d Power: Engine
The X-Class X250d uses the tried-and-tested Renault-Nissan 2.3-litre YS23 engine, which has been used in the Renault Master and Vauxhall Movano vans since 2010. It produces up to 188bhp (3,750rpm) and 450Nm (1,500-2,500rpm) and reaches 62mph from standstill in 11.8 seconds. On the combined NEDC cycle, the X250d returns 35.8mpg (29.4mpg in the city and 40.9mpg highway).
The X250d engine is hooked to a seven-speed automatic transmission and a part-time 4WD system with three settings – 2Hi, 4Hi and 4Low. A rear diff lock can be added for £490 plus VAT.
X-Class X250d Power: Price and Availability
Officially, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class X250d Power is priced at £34,100 plus VAT, with some dealer groups offering the vehicle from £399 per month. This includes a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty, with service intervals are set at 18,000 miles or every two years.
As Mercedes’ commercial vehicle dealer network is largely focused on trucks, there are plenty of after-hours service slots and weekend openings.
