IVECO Mission Awards 2026 Q3: Decarbonisation round-up

The IVECO Mission Awards serve to shine the spotlight on innovative IVECO vehicles, their missions and the operators behind them. Returning for 2026, and expanded to encompass the full IVECO range, standout LCVs will be highlighted on this site each quarter – all leading up to an exclusive black-tie event in November, where the star-studded evening will see trophies collected by highly deserving winners.

This quarter’s shortlist is all about decarbonisation. With ever-increasing pressure from customers, stakeholders, and everyone in between – not to mention mounting operational costs – it’s never been more important for operators to cut their emissions without sacrificing the capability of their fleets. IVECO offers a range of efficient BEVs from 2.8-7.2t, emissions-slashing natural gas powertrains available for the Daily, and a continued commitment to the development of future technologies.

Access Hire – Northern Commercials

Nationwide supplier of welfare and access vehicle hire, Access Hire, has added 10 4.25t IVECO eDaily vans to its fleet of over 1,000 vehicles as part of a pilot scheme to electrify some of its offerings.

With welfare vehicles covering comparatively low mileage – around 20,000 per year – Access Hire elected for the two-battery derivative of eDaily, seeing it as an entry point to fleet electrification. With work regularly taking vehicles into low-emission zones, tight urban areas, as well as on-site work often involving loose or off-road driving, eDaily’s rear-wheel drive and class-leading turning circle makes it the perfect partner for Access Hire’s mission.

Utilising eDaily’s signature truck-based ladder chassis, the bodybuild was completed by IVECO Gold Partner bodybuilder Lyndon Systems Ltd. The bodybuild consists of six passenger seats, as well as a canteen area complete with table, sink and microwave, and separate WC and changing facilities. Access Hire also take full advantage eDaily’s class-leading 3.5t towing capability in order to deliver equipment and materials to site.

Safety in operation was a key concern for Access Hire, which led to the installation of front and rear parking sensors, a rear camera, full Chapter 8 and Speed Limit livery, and a rear safety set – as well as IVECO’s full ADAS suite.

The vehicle was supplied by Northern Commercials, winning the commendation of the judges for its precise specification enabling demanding missions.

EVM Direct – IVECO Retail

EVM UK is a builder and supplier of premium minibus and coaches to private and public sector customers, whose mission is simple: provide travel solutions for comfort, style, and safety without compromise.

Its latest completed vehicle is a 28-seat IVECO eDaily Minibus. The eDaily’s robust truck-based ladder chassis, and non-protruding modular battery system, make it ideal for this type of application.

The body is made from an exceptional light, composite material and is entirely demountable so it can be removed and added to a new chassis at the end of the vehicle’s life – a hugely compelling whole-life cost case. Also adding to TCO credentials is a Telma retarder, which works alongside the regenerative braking system, absorbing much of the routine braking without friction, reducing degradation on the brake pads and discs.

Safety is a shared priority between IVECO and EVM, which is why the vehicle is homologated as an M3 passenger vehicle – constructed to legally defined standards, and not internal benchmarks. In addition to IVECO’s safety and ADAS systems, a reversing camera with audible alert systems and a roof-mounted emergency exit are also fitted.

The vehicle was supplied by IVECO Retail, winning praise from Mission Awards judges for its compelling TCO credentials and attention to second life use for the bodybuild, as well as safety.
