Dedicated to singing the praises of the most capable IVECOs on the road, the IVECO Mission Awards returns for 2026 – this year, with Professional Van as its LCV Partner. Throughout the year, this page will reveal the shortlisted LCVs, leading to an exclusive black-tie event in November, where the winners will be announced.
This quarter’s shortlist is for the Grounds Maintenance & Waste Management sector – a category that demands robust, versatile, and specialised vehicles. These values are part of IVECO’s core, making this a hard-fought shortlist.
With its truck-based ladder chassis providing class-leading bodybuild compatibility, and its rear-wheel – or all-wheel – drive configurations allowing for unparalleled traction for its class, the IVECO Daily is perfectly suited to Grounds Maintenance & Waste Management missions.
Cheshire Demolition – North East Truck & Van
For over 40 years, Cheshire Demolition has provided demolition, excavation, and recycling services to its customers, and this year, has added its first IVECO to its ranks. The vehicle in question is an IVECO Daily (70C18H) skip loader. The vehicle was chosen due to its sturdy truck-based ladder chassis, which gives it exceptional durability, and an unmatched payload for vehicles in its weight category.
The chassis-cab van offers fuel-efficient performance with a 180hp engine and Hi-Matec automatic gearbox, as well as reduced maintenance intervals versus a 7.5t truck, and strong residual values working in tandem to provide a compelling total cost of ownership.
The skiploader body was provided by VDL Equipment UK for its equally lightweight and durable construction, which allows for a payload of 3.8t – over half of the van’s 7.2t certification.
North East Truck & Van supplied the vehicle, with Mission Awards Judges praising a unique application of a 7.2t IVECO Daily.
Myerscough College – Walton Summit
Established over 130 years ago, Myerscough College is one of Lancashire’s oldest further education colleges. It was once a cheesemaking school, but there’s nothing cheesy about its new IVECO Daily 4×4. The vehicle is used on the college’s Arboriculture Tree Management and Woodland Management & Maintenance courses, as well as various research projects nationwide.
Finished in Musk Green, the 7t crew cab features an aluminium dropside body, heavy duty towbar to utilise the Daily’s 3.5t towing capacity on all terrains, and electric generator; which is used to power a rear-mounted HIAB crane, alongside other ancillary equipment used on the courses.
The vehicle was supplied by Walton Summit after extensive research into other available 4×4 units, which revealed the Daily 4×4 as the most suitable in terms of durability, total cost of ownership, and predicted downtime.
Mission Awards Judges applauded the van’s textbook demonstration of the tailored approach and rugged applications that can only be achieved by an IVECO Daily.
Newport Council – Glenside Commercials
Moving ever closer to its target of a 100% EV fleet, Newport Council’s 21st IVECO eDaily comes in the form of a Caged Tipper Crew Cab (42S14E). The choice of vehicle allows up to seven operatives in one vehicle, removing the need for multiple vehicles or journeys – with the bodybuild and tool pod ensuring everyone has the equipment needed to complete the job.
22kW AC charging allows for a full charge overnight at the depot, leaving the vehicle fully charged and ready for its mission every day of the week. Additionally, eDaily’s regenerative braking recoups energy across the undulating southern Wales terrain.
The Dragon Fabrications caged tipper body was chosen for its lightweight construction, and is made with fully recyclable materials.
Working closely with Newport Council, supplier Glenside Commercials assessed all aspects of the local authority’s daily use of the vehicle, with the final outcome meeting all operational needs without excess – efficiently using taxpayer funds to provide its services. Mission Awards judges commented on the mission-focused approach when selecting this eDaily.
