The Spanish National Police has added 10 Ineos Grenadier 4x4s to its fleet, with the vehicles assigned to its Police Intervention Units.
The Grenadiers will be used to support operations in more demanding environments, including rural areas, mountainous regions, natural spaces and emergency zones where conventional vehicles may struggle.
Chosen for their off-road ability straight from the factory, the Grenadiers required only limited modifications, including operational lighting, sirens and security equipment, rather than major mechanical changes.
The Grenadier uses a ladder-frame chassis and permanent four-wheel drive and has been designed for durability and off-road use. For the Spanish National Police, that means the vehicles can be deployed in areas with difficult terrain, poor weather, or limited access.
Tony Lewis, global head of fleet at Ineos Automotive, said: “As Grenadier enters its third full year of production, we are now seeing fleet users really backing our product in mission critical situations. The Spanish National Police are the latest in a growing line of service Grenadiers operating across Europe, the UK and beyond.”
Ineos says fleet interest in the Grenadier has grown significantly over the past six months, with recent orders coming from organisations including the Kenyan Red Cross, Hertz in North America, and fire and rescue services in Germany, Spain and France.
The Spanish police order follows a tender process and adds to Ineos Automotive’s growing number of public-sector and emergency-service fleet deliveries in Europe.
