Isuzu has revealed an updated version of its rugged Basecamp vehicle, built around the go-anywhere D-Max AT35 pickup and packed with kit for serious off-grid camping. It’s not just a showpiece — customers can spec their own Basecamp builds at selected Isuzu dealers.

The D-Max Basecamp is designed for adventurers who want to escape into the wild without sacrificing comfort. Based on the lifted and modified AT35 — a rugged collaboration between Isuzu and Arctic Trucks — the updated model adds a full range of camping and overlanding gear from ARB and Lazer, turning the already capable D-Max into a self-sufficient outdoor base.

Among the highlights are a roof-mounted ARB Esperance tent, an electric coolbox fridge, a slide-out kitchen, and even a portable shower setup. There’s also an ARB canopy for extra storage and protection, and an ensuite-style privacy tent with a 12V-powered shower for life on the trail.

Lighting upgrades come courtesy of Lazer, with a big Linear-36 Elite lightbar on the roof and smaller grille-mounted units up front. Styling tweaks include a matt black grille, bonnet protector, sidebars with steps, and wind visors — all available individually through Isuzu’s accessories catalogue.

Underneath, the AT35’s Arctic Trucks upgrades remain — 35-inch tyres and lifted Bilstein suspension give it serious off-road credibility and allow the whole setup to reach remote locations easily.

“The new Basecamp is a peak adventure vehicle, designed to let you explore without boundaries,” explains George Wallis, head of marketing at Isuzu UK. “It’s the perfect terrain-mate for those who want to take the road less travelled and really gear up for the wild. With the new Basecamp, customers can turn their Isuzu D-Max AT35 into a fully equipped home away from home.”

ARB UK’s Sales Manager, Dan Wallis, added: “The vehicle camping trend continues to grow, and ARB is proud to support Isuzu with high-quality accessories that make vehicle camping convenient, comfortable, and fully accessible. We’re excited to see the Basecamp bring a new level of freedom and exploration to drivers.”

If the D-Max Basecamp build is a bit much, customers can order the Arctic Trucks AT35 through selected dealerships and add Basecamp accessories to suit their own needs, as every item shown on the pickup is available to buy through Isuzu dealers.
