The electric version of the new Nissan Townstar compact van will start with a price of £29,945, offering a range of up to 183 zero-emission miles.
The successor to Nissan’s e-NV200, the Townstar panel van is primed to accelerate businesses’ transition towards electrification.
Driven by a 120hp electric motor, power is provided by a 44kWh battery pack that will keep the van going for up to 183 miles, according to WLTP testing. Around the city, where demands are lighter, the same official testing says that it’ll stretch to 269 miles.
Recharging can be carried out on a suitable home charger or workplace charger, with the entry-level Visia grade fitted with an 11kW onboard chagrin system. Acenta grade and higher benefits from a faster 22kW charging system, alongside a DC rapid charging connector. The latter will allow the battery to recharge from 0% to 80% in a little over 40 minutes.

Electric versions of the Townstar share the same maximum 4.3m3 cargo area – enough for two Euro pallets – and 800kg payload, although the shorter wheelbase model sees this reduced to 600kg. All models have a maximum braked towing capacity of 1,500kg.
Built around the CMF-C platform that underpins the Nissan Qashqai, the Nissan Townstar brings a suite of more than 20 safety technologies and advanced driver assistance features, such as automatic emergency braking, hands-free parking, adaptive cruise control and 360-degree camera views.
Four trim levels will range from an entry-level Visia, through Acenta – featuring enhanced facilities to accommodate most professional needs – and Tekna, incorporating additional driver convenience and upgraded exterior styling. Tekna+tops the range, combining the latest technology with enhanced driver assistance.
“With tougher emissions standards, urban access restrictions, and ever-increasing demand for last-mile delivery, businesses large and small need to find effective and sustainable solutions to remain competitive and optimise their operations,” said Allan Newman, LCV product manager at Nissan GB. “We’re confident Townstar will meet their every need.”

Nissan Townstar Electric Van: Pricing and Availability
Prices for all-electric short-wheelbase examples of the Townstar start from £29,945 and rise to £34,845 for a Tekna+ model. Long-wheelbase all-electric Townstar models vary in price from £31,245 to £35,845, each costing between £1,000 and £1,300 more than the equivalent SWB models.
Every Townstar will be backed by a five-year or 100,000-mile warranty, with the battery pack warranty extending to eight years or 100,000 miles. Roadside assistance is also included on every model.
The official start of sales will be 1st December for the EV version, with pre-orders opening from 22nd August.
