Renault has used the opening day of the Commercial Vehicle Show to launch a new fleet mobile servicing programme built around specially converted Renault Master vans.
The new service is designed to reduce downtime for fleet customers by taking routine maintenance and servicing directly to their premises, rather than requiring vehicles to visit a workshop.

Renault says the first phase of the rollout will see seven mobile servicing vans introduced across selected parts of the UK, with a longer-term target of 25 vehicles across its retailer network.
Initial regions include Brighton, Stockport, Oldham, Edinburgh, West London and Swansea, with the vans intended to give businesses more flexibility over when and where servicing work is carried out.
The converted Masters are equipped to handle a broad range of routine jobs, including scheduled servicing, diagnostics, software updates, battery checks, filter replacements, oil, coolant and brake fluid changes, as well as minor warranty repairs. All work will be carried out by trained technicians using genuine Renault parts.
Each vehicle is based on the Renault Master LWB H3 with the Blue dCi 150 engine and has been fitted with a large stock of 70 individual tools and specialist equipment for mobile use, along with onboard electrical infrastructure, compressor systems and diagnostic equipment.

The new programme is as much about aftersales support as it is about the vehicle itself. Bringing servicing to customers should help fleets keep vehicles on the road for longer, while also making life easier for operators who cannot afford the disruption of sending vans back and forth to a workshop.
It also gives Renault another way to demonstrate the flexibility of the latest Master as a conversion platform, with the mobile servicing vans joining the growing list of specialist applications built around the large van.
