Vauxhall has launched a new GS trim level for its Vivaro and Vivaro Electric van range. Designed to blend sporty styling with practical enhancements, the GS trim caters to drivers looking for a van that stands out while remaining functional.

Vivaro GS design update

Like the previous generation GS, the sporty body kit brings a dynamic edge to the Vivaro. A front lip spoiler, sleek side skirts with integrated mudguards, and a piano black rear spoiler give the van a distinctive road presence. There’s also a redesigned rear bumper, exclusive 18-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels (with high-load Nankang tyres), and a subtle GS badge on the rear.

While the body kit might add some drama to the mid-sized van, the colour options won’t, as Vauxhall is limiting colour choices to two shades of grey: Quartz Silver or Mercury Grey.

Inside, Vauxhall says the Vivaro GS is tailored for comfort and durability. The seats are hand-crafted from eco-leather, embossed with the GS logo, and accented with bold red stitching and cooling perforations.

The GS is the new flagship model in the Vivaro range and builds on the Pro trim level with an array of upgraded features. Comforts such as dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging, and keyless entry and start are added, alongside a heated leather steering wheel and heated driver’s seat.

However, as the roof spoiler prevents mounting a high-level rear camera, the GS misses out on the digital rearview mirror fitted to the Pro models. Front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera are included, though.

Electric and diesel powertrains

The GS trim is available with the same range of power units as the regular Vivaro van, which means there’s a choice of an electric model or a 2.0-litre diesel version.

The Vivaro Electric GS is powered by a 136hp motor supplied from a 75kWh battery pack, offering a range of up to 209 miles between charges. With 100kW rapid charging, it’ll recharge from 5% to 80% (enough for another 156 miles) in 45 minutes.

Diesel power comes in two 2.0-litre variants — one offers 145hp and a six-speed manual gearbox, as it does in the rest of the Vivaro range, while a more powerful version increases that to 180hp, with eight-speed automatic transmission.

Vauxhall Vivaro GS pricing and availability

Customers can order a new Vauxhall Vivaro GS now. Prices start at £39,990, plus VAT and OTR charges, for the 145hp model, representing a £7,730 increase over the Pro model. Prices rise to £42,390 for the 180hp model with automatic gearbox.

The Vivaro Electric GS is priced at £52,890 before a reduction from the government’s plug-in van grant, which compares to the £44,730 price tag on the Vivaro Electric Pro panel van.
